Producers and iPhones and tours...OH, MY!

So, I see that Mr. Aiken as decided to blog more in one month than he has since the beginning of the year. Could that have something to do with upcoming membership renewals? I'll resist the temptation to go down that road right now. However, in light of his current commentary, let me throw out a few caveats of my own -

IMHO, the only producer out there that could do wonders for both his career and next CD is the one and only "showman of our generation" BARRY MANILOW! My faithful readers already know (just how many time HAVE I said it?) that I think Mr. Manilow is a musical god and since he has declared many times to all the world that Clay will look like him in 30 years, it would seem to be a natural fit. There are many similarities between the two men and who better to help nurture a career redirection than someone who has reinvented himself a few times over 30+ years? I would be one happy camper if all my conjecture comes true but until then, here's some footage of a very young Barry singing a favorite, yet obscure, song on tour in the late 70's. Anything look familiar, Clay fans?

As for the iPhone, until it comes to Verizon Wireless I'm not buying it. AT+T is a lousy carrier and I've been following the proceedings over the last 36 hours and most of the glitches that are popping up are NOT with the phone itself. I waited until 4G to get my 1st iPod (a mini that my hubby now uses since he bought me a video 5G last year) and I'm glad I waited until most of the bugs were exterminated. Guess it will be the same for this little piece of geek nirvana. Anyway, I had been looking into smartphones earlier this year but opted to keep my technology separate for now, lest one thing break down and render the others useless. So, for now, I'll continue to carry my cell phone, PDA and iPod around with me in big pocketbooks (as well as my digital and video cameras, laptop, etc). They don't call me the "gadget queen" for nothing!

And now for the tour -- uh, I wonder if this "project" has anything to do with taking a stroll down AI memory lane? That would be a treat for those of us who "fell in like" with Clay during that time and would be a sort of "greatest hits" medley. Let's see - Everlasting Love, Buttercup, Unchained Melody, At this Moment, GREASE…ok, I could seriously get into something like that. Did I get this one right? I guess I'll find out soon enough -- see you at Meadowbrook, Clay!

Well, that's all for now. Mom is doing very well for her age and health but I still take things one day at time with her. The job is rolling along but I'm starting to think about writing again. Perhaps it's time for another story …however I'm not sure if I'll share this one on the Web. I'll never say never but for now it's staying under wraps.

Carry on and have a safe, happy 4th of July!
