And today's musical word is...

Col legno

A directive to violin (or a bowed string instrument) musicans to perform a particular passage by striking the strings with the wood of the bow rather than with the hair.

In piano playing, this term refers to the crossing of the hands so that the left hand is playing higher notes than the right hand.


I hear there is going to be a test at the end. Perhaps I need to come up with one of my own. Better brush off those teaching skills...
